Musician RSI Everyone knows that professional athletes suffer sports common injuries, however, professional musicians often end up on the disabled list too. The act of playing a piano, or guitar, or violin or clarinet takes more than simple know-how. It takes repetition of movement to train your brain and muscles to play the music perfectly every time. The personal cost of this continual practicing will be various forms of repetitive strain injury also known as the RSI’s. The positioning and action of the artist causes spasm and scarring in the deep spinal muscles. These scars then cause disc problems, pinched nerves and back, arm or leg pain. Disability in musicians is common. High-tech forms of stretching can help to prevent the RSI disorders. Medications such as anti-inflammatories, as well as chiropractic, massage and physiotherapy can also be instrumental in musicians’ recoveries. Click Here For Stretching Video For Musicians |
