TMJ Many people complain of occasional jaw stiffness or ache that may come and go. Some people will complain of obvious cracking or pain in the jaw joint. Jaw problems are actually quite common and represent the bane of existence of many dentists. Some people develop such severe jaw problems that they cannot eat. They may have facial pain, they will often have headaches and some will require major jaw surgery. The medical term for many of these jaw problems is Temporomandibular Jaw dysfunction or TMJ for those of us who like short terms. New excitement in the field of TMJ arises from the finding that most of these jaw problems appear to be caused, in part, from pinched nerves, or neuropathy, in the neck. Anxiety, of course, will increase neck muscle dysfunction. However, many of the cases that I have treated were caused by whiplash, such as in car accidents or by neck problems from computer-related injuries. Many TMJ cases can be reversed with special neck and facial stretching therapy. Click Here For Stretching Video For TMJ |
